Khan Academy - the revolution of the educational system

The day I stumbled with the Academy Khan (Khan Academy ), a draft Salman Khan in the U.S., which arises from the single instance of being taught some cousins remotely, school subjects.

Start spreading their teaching skills via Skype, but ends up shooting videos which take on a traffic visibility and transform your project into one of the most notable of XXI century education.

What makes this notable, apart from the simplicity of the videos, is the environmental software, tracking tool for both students and for teachers, allowing them to truly and finally students take control learning process, as he had not seen before.

This means a revolutionary change to the education system, it gives more power to students in their learning path and also changes the role of teachers, who focus their work to be real tutors or coaches who devote their time to assist students who are in difficulties, either directly or by helping to mobilize other students who have already last such matters to collaborate with peers and gaining reputation with this bond.

Management of badges or plates, trophies that students are acquiring as they pass stages and barriers gives the process a virtual game character, which makes it challenging from the spur of the element reputation the game / learning process involved.

greatly impressed me is INICE, that Bill Gates has appeared in several videos with Salman Khan, which hints at the importance of what this social entrepreneurship (at least until now, it's free) can be.

I present here the video of Khan presenting your venture in Ted where you can find the subtitled version in English:

And this video which is explained (English) full platform support for this type of learning based on videos:
